Joliet Makes World Star Hip Hop Site With Fight Video Outside Mojoes & Possible Shot Fired

The video shows a man viciously beating two women outside the downtown Joliet club.

A shocking video capturing a chaotic scene outside the downtown Joliet club Mojoes shows a man viciously beating two women before what seems to be a gunshot scatters the wild crowd.

The video "Dude Vs Girl Fight Leads To Gun Shots Fired After Fredo Santana Concert!" appears on the "hip hop & urban media" website World Start Hip Hop.

The Mojoes Facebook page says Fredo Santana performed there May 1. Calls to the Cass Street club went to a voice mailbox that was full and not accepting messages. No one responded to an email inquiry about the fight.

Joliet Police Chief Brian Benton said his department responded to a disturbance with a report of a shot fired the night of the fight.

"At that point we were not able to corroborate the complaint," Benton said "We talked to the parties there and they all gave conflicting stories."

But earlier this week someone from the club came forward with the video, Benton said. Detectives have been able to identify individuals appearing on the video, "at least through nicknames," the chief said, and they are now being tracked down.

In the video, someone off camera—presumably the man recording the melee—can be heard repeatedly screaming, "World Star" as a man in a dark hooded sweat shirt apparently attempts to separate several young women who are fighting.

One of the women pushes the man and makes contact with his face. The man then goes berserk, throwing punches and connecting with at least two of the women before a shot rings out and the mob runs off.

The video ends with a slow motion replay of the man punching the women, the sound of the shot and the crowd running away.

The video had been viewed 1,193,052 times by Wednesday.
