Gang Member Threatened Landlord, Police Say

Police say Jarvin Davis broke four windows in the landlord's building and threatened to hurt or kill him if he pressed trespassing charges against a friend.

A reputed gang member who kicked in the basement windows of an apartment building and made threats against the landlord was arrested Tuesday.

Jarvin J. Davis, 20, 117 Comstock, apparently wanted to pressure the landlord not to pursue criminal trespass charges against a friend who was at the 210 N. Eastern Ave. apartment without permission, in violation of the landlord's agreement with the city, Cmdr. Rich Demick said.

Davis broke four windows as the landlord watched at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, and told the man not to tell the police or face being hurt or killed by the gang with whom he was affilated, Demick said.
