Joliet Cops Find Naked Man Walking Along Street With Children: Police
The Joliet man was jailed and his mental state will be evaluated, police said.
A Joliet man went for a naked walk with his young nieces and nephews Thursday afternoon, police said.
Angel Cadena-Ortiz, 20, of 216 Ohio St. was charged with endangering the life or health of children. He was also jailed on a pair of Will County warrants charging him with failing to appear in court for obstructing justice and driving with a revoked license cases.
The law received several calls about a "naked individual running with children" near the corner of Fourth and Winston avenues shortly before 12:30 p.m., police said.
When officers arrived, they reportedly spotted a naked Cadena-Ortiz with two boys and two girls between the ages of 3 and 14.
The children told the officers Cadena-Ortiz, who is their uncle, was "acting weird," police said.
They reportedly informed the cops that Cadena-Ortiz told them they were "going to a friend's house to use the bathroom," police said, and then led them on a walk.
Along the way, he reportedly told the children to get undressed and threw their coats in a garbage can. As he walked on, Cadena-Ortiz disrobed and tossed his own clothes in a different garbage can, police said.
Staff at the Will County jail were advised of Cadena-Ortiz's alleged bizarre behavior and he was to be subjected to an evaluation, police said.
