Accused Hickory St. Killers High on Pot, Coke, But Dead Man Clean: Cops

The four young people charged in the double murder on Hickory Street reportedly told police they binged on drugs and alcohol the night of the killings and into the next day.

But the two murdered men—targeted because one was supposedly a drug dealer known to carry lots of cash—were almost clean on postmortem drug tests.

Murder victim Eric Glover, 22, had no illegal drugs of any kind in his system, according to a toxicology report obtained by Patch. Testing performed on his close friend and fellow victim, Terrance Rankins, also 22, showed signs of marijuana, said the toxicology report. 

Rankins positive result "derives from a presumptive test," the toxicological report stated. A confirmatory test was recommended.

One of the two women charged in the murder, 19-year-old Alisa Massaro, said Rankins was lured to her home to be robbed because he "sold drugs and kept a lot of money on him," according to a police report. The other woman linked to the killings, Bethany McKee, 18, of Shorewood, said Rankins was a "marijuana dealer and (has) lots of money on him all the time," a report stated.

Both women reportedly told police the large sum they believed Rankins would be carrying was about $100.

While the supposed drug dealer, Rankins, tested positive for marijuana, and the man with him showed no drugs in his system, the four charged in the killings spoke freely with officers about indulging in drugs and alcohol before and after the murders, according to police reports.

Massaro told officers "she smoked marijuana from Wednesday going into Thursday," according to a police report.

Accused killer Joshua Miner, 24, "stated he had 7-8 shots of alcohol and 10-11 beers" before the murders, a report said. Miner also reportedly told officers he searched the clothing of the men he killed and "eventually took money and drugs (which he described as weed and coke) out of their pockets while they were laying on the floor."

Adam Landerman, 19, told police he was "drinking, playing video games, hanging out," a report stated, before he strangled one of the men. And when officers reportedly found him hiding in the basement of Massaro's Hickory Street home after the bodies were discovered, he explained that "he was drinking alcohol and at the direction of his friend Josh hid in the basement because he knew the police were at the residence," said a report, which continued, "Note: Landerman isn't of legal drinking age."

And if the four alleged killers actually took cocaine off one of their victims, they apparently didn't get enough of it. McKee reportedly told officers that after the murders, she and her three friends "all went to pick up 'coke' as in cocaine from Adam's dealer, Nick."

The report continues with McKee telling an officer they returned to Massaro's home and "partied in the other upstairs bedroom until she passed out at around (2 a.m.). McKee related that during the party after they killed the two guys she and the others were snorting and smoking cocaine."

Before Miner and Massaro had sex on top of the bodies of the two dead men, McKee told investigators, according to a police report, "Josh talked about having Alisa snort coke off his penis. Josh had also talked about having cocaine penis which means he couldn't get an erection to have sex with Alisa."
