Body ID'd as Missing Joliet Woman

The coroner's office said Jameka Rochelle-Williamson was found in the Des Plaines River but her cause of death is "inconclusive."

The woman whose body was Wednesday afternoon has been identified as a resident who's been missing since Aug. 26, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.

Jameka Rochelle-Williamson, 28, was declared dead at about 2:50 p.m., about an hour after a fisherman discovered her in the water near Rockdale and contacted police, the coroner's office said.

An autopsy was conducted by the coroner Thursday, but the results were deemed "inconclusive" and no cause of death recorded. Toxicology tests have been conducted, and the results are pending, the office said.

The Illinois State Police is handling the case, but could not be reached for comment.

Gee, hope it's not Officer Deal and we all know how bad our coroner is.

I just have a question...on here it says a fisherman found the body. But in the Herald it says a worker on a platform spotted her. I'm just wondering which is correct.

The Patch is wrong? Please tell me it's not true!!! :) Also, it is funny how they note that the findings are "inconclusive"...what's with the parenthesis? Is this an attempt to mock something? Either way, the Patch is free and I do enjoy reading things here.

@Charles Those are not (parentheses), but rather quotation marks...probably indicating a quote from the coroner's report.
