Crook Asks Joliet Man For Plunger, Snatches Wallet
A Joliet man was robbed by someone who asked to borrow his plunger.
A crook used the old "Can I borrow your plunger?" trick to steal a Joliet man's wallet.
The thief struck about 9 a.m. Sunday at a residence on Union Street, knocking on the door of an older man's home.
When the older man answered, the younger man explained that there was a leak upstairs and asked to borrow a plunger, police said.
When the older man moved to reach for something the younger man snatched his wallet and ran out.
The older man was unharmed and apparently still has his plunger.
