Crest Hill Man Jailed After Evergreen Terrace Melee: Cops

Two other men involved in the Evergreen Terrace brawl remain at large, police said.

A Crest Hill man fled Evergreen Terrace after a brawl at the apartment complex but was captured a block away, police said.

Derek Guardiola, 28, was booked into the Will County jail on charges of battery, criminal trespass to property and mob action in connection with the Thursday afternoon incident at Evergreen.

Officers were sent to the apartment complex's welcome center to investigate a "large fight," police said.

A man with a red, swollen eye reportedly told police he had been hit and described his attacker, whom the police said looked a lot like Guardiola.

Guardiola was tracked down on Hickory Street. He was taken to Evergreen where the red-eyed man identified him as his assailant, police said.

Guardiola remained in custody at the Will County jail. He was being held in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Two other men allegedly involved in the fight remain at large.
