Couple Caught in Sex Act Arrested for Prostitution, Solicitation: Cops

The pair were charged after being discovered inside a car in a Jewel-Osco store parking lot, Joliet police said.

A couple found in flagrante delicto inside a car parked at a Jewel-Osco were arrested Wednesday night and charged, respectively, with prostitution and solicitation of a sexual act, Joliet Police Cmdr. Rich Demick said.

Leonardo A. Lara, 39, of 335 Hillside Road, New Lenox, was driving in the 1500 block of West Jefferson Street at about 9 p.m. when he was flagged down by Heather White, 21, of 2717 Campbell, Joliet, Demick said.

After agreeing to perform oral sex on him in exchange for $20, White got into Lara's car and the pair drove to the parking lot of the Jewel-Osco store at Jefferson and Midland Avenue, he said. However, their rendezvous did not go unnoticed and the police were called.

The officer who answered the call apparently interrupted the scene before it was concluded and Lara and White were arrested, Demick said. Both admitted what took place, with Lara also telling police he didn't have the $20 to pay White, he said.

Each was released on a signature bond pending an April 16 court hearing.

White has had numerous arrests in the past, according to Will County jail records, including one for possession of a controlled substance by the Crest Hill Police Department on Jan. 7.

I am not condoning these actions at all, and I am sad that this 21 years old girl felt like she had no other choices than to sell herself for money. That said, even if we don't agree on moral grounds, can't we at least agree that "cash up front" is the standard in common sense for those that engage in these activities?

Life is what you choose, we all have choices from day to day, even choice has an effect on our lives, this was her choice, she is obviously just starting out doing this and is probably easily intimidated or else she'd have demanded money up front and the minute they started driving, if she doesn't get help now she will wind up with STD'S, probably beaten and robbed of any earnings she will make and worst case scenario dead. Prostitution is no road easily traveled and never leads to a better day. With her inexperienced ways those Joliet guys will do very bad things to her she has no way of protecting herself from somebody like that. Better hope the police can save this one or she will be in the morgue real soon.

I've never had a reason to employ a prostitute but I wouldn't pay until the job is done. Does your boss pay you a week ahead? Also, what if she decides to run? Do you chase after her yelling, Stop Prostitute Stop or call the police and tell them you were ripped of by one? There has to be a better way to make a living?

I live in the area and have seen that girl walking around Jefferson st at night. It's a shame to see her hooking probably to support a drug habit. She needs rehab, not jail.

Drug use should be a public health issue, and not a criminal one. We spend far to much locking up non violent offenders and far too little helping people that are addicted. Actually, much of the violent crime here is the result of drug addiction, or drug sales. Nixon's " War on Drugs " failed long ago. It's time to deal with the real problem.

first of all if it were legal and government stayed out of peoples personal lives then she would not of had to be in a parking lot..She could have he clients meet just like the ladies in porn do..at a business, home, not in public...Second of all if it were legal to me I don't think we would have as many rapes and child molestations going on..prices would be cheaper due to competition..diseases would be spread less, and those who can not afford it would then be able to,and not have to worry about going to jail...just like now...now do you think this guy is going to get another hooker?...and do you think his desires are gone?...Not a chance...what you did now was force this guy to probably do something stupid when he just wants to get it on...Humans make something so simple so complicated....Who cares if she sells her ass..you think she is feeling sorry for herself laughing and joking with other hookers,or when she is doing her drugs..Now go and ask her if she really wants to quit using and see if she starts laughing at you and tells you hell no she don't want to quit...and most do not. Most people take drugs like taking them..thats why they did it in the first place..and when they tell you they want to get off them..its only to make you feel better...as they leave and go use again..Forced treatment never works..you can always use again after you get out.Its all personal choice..Quit feeling sorry for her..she don't...you can bet on it..She 's probably hooking right now.

I've noticed this girl walking up and down Jefferson St at all hours of the day for at least a year. She stares at cars with men only in them, I've seen her flag them down. She is a sad case of someone whose life has turned out so terribly wrong. She needs help. She needs rehab. Just look at her picture, she does not look 21, more like 45 or more, this is the sad picture of drug addiction. Also, why is only her picture showing, her cohort should have his posted too.

He should be ashamed of himself!!! is he really that desperate?? who knows what kind of diseases that girl has for being a prostitute.. i feel sorry for his family he can possibly be spreading STD' s 2 them. All for 2 min. of pleasure?? C'mon guy. so sad to see someone so young ruinin there lives.. oh well what are you gonna do people like that dont wanna change, they like what they do, anything for a quick buck for them drugs!!

I doubt highly if a streewalking hooker likes what she's doing. She needs help. Her parents need help in helping her. Getting her off of drugs and into counseling may sound like a waste of taxpayer dollars. Yet it's cheaper then the courtroom costs, the jail costs and all of the medical costs from all the customers that get STD's and then spread them.
