Couple Caught in Sex Act Arrested for Prostitution, Solicitation: Cops

The pair were charged after being discovered inside a car in a Jewel-Osco store parking lot, Joliet police said.

A couple found in flagrante delicto inside a car parked at a Jewel-Osco were arrested Wednesday night and charged, respectively, with prostitution and solicitation of a sexual act, Joliet Police Cmdr. Rich Demick said.

Leonardo A. Lara, 39, of 335 Hillside Road, New Lenox, was driving in the 1500 block of West Jefferson Street at about 9 p.m. when he was flagged down by Heather White, 21, of 2717 Campbell, Joliet, Demick said.

After agreeing to perform oral sex on him in exchange for $20, White got into Lara's car and the pair drove to the parking lot of the Jewel-Osco store at Jefferson and Midland Avenue, he said. However, their rendezvous did not go unnoticed and the police were called.

The officer who answered the call apparently interrupted the scene before it was concluded and Lara and White were arrested, Demick said. Both admitted what took place, with Lara also telling police he didn't have the $20 to pay White, he said.

Each was released on a signature bond pending an April 16 court hearing.

White has had numerous arrests in the past, according to Will County jail records, including one for possession of a controlled substance by the Crest Hill Police Department on Jan. 7.
