Businesses Busted for Selling Tobacco to Minors: Joliet Police

Employees at six Joliet businesses sold cigarettes to minors in a check conducted Wednesday by the Joliet Police Department.

Police routinely conduct compliance checks by using "undercover" teenagers under 18 to see if businesses will sell tobacco products to minors.

Here is a list of the businesses and employees charged with sale of tobacco to a minor during a sweep on Wednesday, according to police:

  • Citgo, 212 S. Larkin Ave.; Omar M. Husseein, 21,  9228 S. Oreto in Bridgeview.
  • Judge's Bar, 35 E. Cass St.;  Lauren M. Tincher, 28, 7 W. Jackson St. in Joliet.
  • Shell gas station, 710 E. Cass St; Shameekie T. King, 35, 523 Elmwood Ave., in Joliet.
  • Jackson Liquor, 110 E. Jackson St.; Victor M. Hernandez-Lopez, 58, 757 Bluff St. in Joliet.
  • Calderon's Liquors, 741 Collins St.; Israel Hermosillo-Bernal, 39, 1227 California Ave. in Joliet.
  • Walgreens, 7851 Caton Farm Road; Mary K. Faltin, 22, 6445 Langsford Lane in Plainfield.
