Attempted Armed Robbery Ends in Arrest

The incident happened at Joliet Junior College on-campus housing.

have arrested a man after he allegedly pointed a gun at a neighbor's chest outside their home near Joliet Junior College.

Jordan Myers, 18, of the 1500 block of Centennial Commons was arrested on charges of attempted armed robbery and aggravated assault, police said.

Joliet Police Cmdr. Al Roechner said the victim, who also lives in the 1500 block of Centennial Commons, was walking home when he was approached by three subjects.

The victim identified Myers from a police line-up as the person who had pointed a gun at his chest. Roechner said the victim pushed Myers away and a roommate heard the commotion and came outside. That's when Myers and the other three subjects ran away, police said.

"We are looking for the third subject right now," Roechner said. Police do not believe the second subject was involved in the robbery, but are looking for a third man who was with Myers.

Roechner said police were called to the scene of the incident at 2:45 a.m.

The victim told police the second subject had nothing to do with the altercation. The victim did not know the subjects socially, but he did know who they were, police said.

Myers was taken to the Will County Jail. His bond hearing is on Friday.

Editor's Note: Joliet Police listed Myers' address as Joliet, but the address listed at Will County Jail was in Chicago.

Why panic people with the headline at JJC??? It happened near there "pointed a gun at a neighbor's chest outside their home near Joliet Junior College." No wonder people are upset with the media today.

It happened on campus. Centennial commons. The home is inside a gated community strictly for jjc students.

Yeah it says right at the top that it happened at the on-campus housing. How do you guys not understand this? It's "on-campus" housing that is owned and operated by JJC.
That place has always been horrible. I lived there a few years ago and had my apartment broken into in the middle of the day while i was gone and had everything stolen. TV, Xbox, Laptop, even my textbooks. Joliet police came and treated me like a criminal for some reason too. Some big fat white guy starts walking around my torn apart apartment saying "something doesn't sound right about this". All I could think was, if the guy was running away right now, you'd never catch him, and why do they make your police uniforms in XXXL.
