Arizona Trucker Looking For Love in Joliet Finds Pain & Loss at Hands of 4 Men

The man was beaten and robbed on six-corners, police said.

An Arizona over-the-road trucker was ambushed and robbed after a man who offered to "introduce him to some girls" steered him from Harrah's Casino to six-corners, police said.

The 50-year-old from Phoenix told police he stopped off at the downtown casino and was walking back to his rig about 11:45 p.m. Thursday when he ran into the man who would lead him into trouble.

The man claimed to be acquainted with some girls that the trucker could get to know, so the two headed from Harrah's to the CVS at six-corners.

But once there, instead of girls, the trucker met three of his new friend's buddies and they proceeded to beat him about the head before stealing his wallet, which contained $200, his driver's license and credit cards.

The four men then took off running, going west on Plainfield Road.
