A Joliet woman, angered when her estranged husband refused to return their child to her, broke windows on his house, slashed his car tires and threatened him with a knife, Joliet police said.
Tambara L. Tanzy, 32, 208 Sherman Court, made three separate trips to her husband's home at 808 E. Washington St., the first occurring the afternoon of May 2, Joliet Capt. Tab Jensen said.
In each case, the incident occurred and then the police were called after Tanzy had departed. Tanzy's first round involved smashing our four windows followed by cutting the victim's car tires and then returning with a knife to make threats, Jensen said.
Police spoke to Tanzy by phone and later were able to take her into custody at a home in the 600 block of Dover.
The child's age was not released. Jensen said the police do not intervene in custody situations in which the parents are married but not living together.
Tanzy faces one count of felony criminal damage to property, two counts of criminal damage to property, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of battery, one count of domestic battery and one count of criminal trespass to property.
She's been released from Will County jail on $5,000 bond.
