Joliet police say Jessie Jeffries was intoxicated when she pulled a knife on her live-in boyfriend Saturday night.

A Joliet woman who pulled a knife on her live-in boyfriend during a fight, stabbing both of his hands, was charged with aggravated domestic battery Saturday night, Joliet Police Cmdr. Rich Demick said.

Police arrived at the couples' 513 W. Bellarmine Drive home at about 11:10 p.m. and took an intoxicated Jessie Marie Jeffries, 30, into custody, Demick said.

According to reports, the couple was fighting over an undisclosed topic when Jeffries "pulled out a knife and started swinging it at the victim," cutting the index finger on his right hand, Demick said. The boyfriend's thumb was also cut when he used his left hand to disarm the woman, he said.
