A Joliet woman who pulled a knife on her live-in boyfriend during a fight, stabbing both of his hands, was charged with aggravated domestic battery Saturday night, Joliet Police Cmdr. Rich Demick said.
Police arrived at the couples' 513 W. Bellarmine Drive home at about 11:10 p.m. and took an intoxicated Jessie Marie Jeffries, 30, into custody, Demick said.
According to reports, the couple was fighting over an undisclosed topic when Jeffries "pulled out a knife and started swinging it at the victim," cutting the index finger on his right hand, Demick said. The boyfriend's thumb was also cut when he used his left hand to disarm the woman, he said.
The couple have a 2-year-old child together who was home during the fight, Demick said.
Jeffries is being held in the Will County jail in lieu of $10,000 bond. She is also facing an aggravated assault charge.
According to jail records, she was previously arrested for domestic battery in 2010 by the Romeoville Police Department.
