MESSAGE TO THE BLACK YOUTH ii

To the Black Youth.  I encourage you to set down the ways of other people and follow the ways of your ancestors.  Remember that G’d Has Declared for you to:  “ be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of G’d”.

So seek not glorification in emulating the culture and history of those who dare deify themselves in defiance of humanity.  Rather, look to the ways of your ancestors who followed the words of G’d and reverenced the wombs that bore them.  Follow the ways of your own ancestors who, though they lived among the wild beast, they did not, themselves, become savage.

Remember my brethren, you are not them and you can never be them no matter how vicious you become.  So just dig in to your inner self and cultivate that seed of respect for yourself.  Cultivate that seed of respect and take responsibility for your life and know that your life includes your community, your family.   Respect it.  Honor it.  Protect it.
