Sharquece LaShirl "Shar" Baker

She confessed Christ at an early age. She was a student of Joliet West High School, where she was an avid basketball player. Sharquece had awesome knowledge of the Bible. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Sharquece was preceded in death by her cousin, Keyshaunna Lucas; her father, Kevin Underwood Sr.; one uncle; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her mothers, Rosie Baker and Shirley Walsh; her father, Johnny Baker; sisters LaShell (Stan) Abbott, Mary Baker, Mary Underwood, and Iisha and Takya Dingle; brothers Jimmy (Stephanie) Baker and Kevin Underwood Jr.; aunts Serena, Sylvia (Ronald) Hanko, Tambra Lindsey, Joyce Moore, Wilma (Minister Joseph) Smith, all of Joliet, IL, and Detrich and Valerie of Kankakee, IL; uncles Robert (Marlene) Walsh, John (Rowena) Lindsey, Martin Moore and Johnny (Evelyn) Walsh; 15 nieces and nephews; special friends Jade, Tyler, Tre and Jainae; special nephew DyJon Abbott; special cousins Jaida Anderson and Robert Johnson; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014, from 10 a.m. to noon at St. Paul M.B. Church, 1404 S. Briggs St., Joliet, IL. Service at noon, with Pastor Edward Martin Jr. officiating. Interment following at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL.
