A service will be held Friday at St. John MB Church in Joliet.

Lee Richard Shelby

Born on February 21, 1955, and departed Saturday, October 12, 2013.

Lee graduated from Joliet East High School in 1973, attended and graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Devry Institute on the president’s list. He retired from Joliet Township High School District 204 in 2012. One of the founders of Joliet Warrior Football organization and a JVTV volunteer.

He is preceded in death by his father, Leroy Shelby.

Survived by his beloved wife, Eartha B. Shelby; children, Lee Richard Jr. of Chicago, IL, Marshane Kitt (Mandi), Christopher, Jeremiah and Jamal, all of Joliet, IL; 11 grandchildren; mother Alonia Shelby of Sylvarena, MS; brother, Vincent Shelby (Debbie); paternal sisters, Debra Carpenter and Tiffany Ulmer; numerous nieces and nephews.

Lee will lie in repose, Friday, October 25, 2013, at noon followed by the service at 7:00pm at St. John MB Church, 104 E. Zarley Blvd, Joliet, IL.
