Elbert Barnes Jr. Obituary

A service will be held Friday at the Minor-Morris Funeral Home in Joliet.

Elbert Barnes Jr.

Born May 30, 1954 in Natchez, MS, Elbert was the first child of six children born to Annie Mae Blanson of Winnsboro, LA, and father, Elbert Barnes Sr. He passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois.

Elbert served in the U.S. Air Force and received an honorable discharge. He worked many years as a self-employed electrician.

He is survived by his devoted companion, Faye King; sons Tavelle Allen, Damion Barnes, Tony Barnes, James Barnes and London King; brothers Donald Barnes of Joliet, IL, Ronald Barnes of Las Vegas, NV, James Barnes of Houston, TX, and Johnnie L. Bowie of Houston, TX; sister Marry L. Barnes of Winnsboro, LA; favorite nephew Jaylin W. Barnes; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Service will be at 11:00 AM, Evangelist Christian Young officiating. Interment following at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
