A service will be held Thursday at Mt. Moriah M.B. Church in Joliet.

Darnell departed this life on Saturday, September 14, 2013, in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born on December 12, 1954, to Mary Keith and Roosevelt Lee in Chicago, Ill. 

Darnell attended Lockport Township High School and was later employed at the Joliet Steel Mill until his job transferred him to Pittsburgh, Pa. He had a real passion and love for photography and landscaping. Darnell gave his life to Christ at a very young age under the leadership of the late Pastor James McNear.

Darnell was preceded in death by his two brothers and both paternal and maternal grandparents.

Darnell is survived by his devoted mother, Mary Keith of Joliet, Ill.; his father, Roosevelt Lee of Chicago, Ill.; one son, Marcus Hatten of Buffalo, NY; four grandchildren; eight brothers; four sisters; one uncle, Willie Earl Hatten (Linda) of Joliet, Ill.; special aunts, Mattie Hill of Joliet, Ill., and Mae Willie Hatten of Detroit, Mich.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his church family; two special friends, Charles Travis and Percy Conway, both of Lockport, Ill.

Visitation Thursday, September 19, 2013, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Mt. Moriah M.B., 1503 Arthur Ave., Joliet, Ill. Service at 11:00 AM, Pastor Clint Wilburn, officiating. Interment following at Mount Vernon Memorial Estates, Lemont, Ill.
