Age 78, of Joliet, IL, went peacefully to glory on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at home. Born October 5, 1935, in Camden, MS, and resided in Joliet, IL, for the past 56 years.
Preceded in death by her husband, Emanuel Jones; parents Dan Grant Sr. and Flora Catchings Grant of Jackson, MS; brothers Dan J.R. of Joliet and Lennie T. of Canton, MS.

She leaves to cherish in her memory, children Dorothy Jean Caples, Barnestine, Lester Ray (Dawn), Lessie Mae Stegall, James Henry (Thelma Jean), Clandas, David (Lisa) of New York, Mary, Martha, Curtis (Patrice) of Joliet, IL; sisters Lula Grant and Rosie Grant of Joliet, IL, Betty (Walter) Day of Cleveland, OH, and Catherine Grant and Martha Grant of Jackson, MS; brother Tom Mack Grant of Houston, TX; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at St. John M.B. Church, 104 E. Zarley Blvd., Joliet, IL. Service at 4:00 PM, Pastor Herbert Brooks Jr. officiating. Interment Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at 10:00 AM at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL.
