Plainfield Couple Say They're Hoping for a Guilty Verdict

Mary and Al Konrath were sitting in front of the Will County Courthouse Wednesday afternoon with a sign that featured photos of Kathleen Savio and the word guilty.

Mary Konrath has been following the religiously, with he husband Al by her side.

"We want justice for Kathleen," she said Wednesday afternoon.

Peterson is facing murder charges in the death of Kathleen Savio, Peterson's third wife. The jury began deliberations Wednesday morning.

Konrath said she has a person reason to be passionate about the trial.

"I was, in a former marriage, a victim of domestic violence," she said. "I'm so passionate about domestic violence and these controlling men who thing they can do what they want to women."

Al has, in his time following the trial, become passionate in his own right.

"I started doing this to support her and found myself engulfed in this," he said.

Even if Mr. Peterson gets convicted in Will County - I am certain that the Supreme Court will overturn his conviction! Hearsay evidence is WRONG by any standards of Law! As a former juror myself, show me the facts - not the accusations. Show me DNA or other irrefutable evidence, and I would certainly vote to convict! The very last thing I would ever wish to do is to send anyone to prison for a crime they did not commit! We have already have too many convicted prisoners here in Will county who later were released because of poor police work and the prejudice of the prosecutors!
What I personally have come to know about this trial is that it is obvious that this is the result of POOR POLICE WORK! Had a proper investigation been performed when Kathleen Savio died, we would not have been going through this trial! Had our legislators (mostly lawyers) themselves pondered the implication of a hearsay law they should not have passed the Drew's Law! Why not being back the WITCH TRIALS OF SALEM ? Come on people - can you be that dumb to allow hearsay evidence? Personally I do not like Drew Peterson myself as I find him to be boasting and cocky! But in all good intentions - if I was on his jury to send him to prison ( unless there is solid evidence which remains available only to the jury at this time and not heard by us) I would NOT and could not convict him on hearsay, media coverage, opinions, or the supposed "perfect" recall of people from years back!

Heresay has ALWAYS been allowed in some circumstances. Do your homework. The Heresay allowed, was allowed by the Appellate court under previously existing law, NOT the new law (which they specifically rejected).

You need to put the correct phone number. You have 8 numbers listed instead of 7.

Maybe some new manhole lids with rubber rings to stop all the flooding of peoples houses,AndRead More actually climb down in the manhole and see if it is leaking instead of paying all of these people in Joliet getting flooded out by YOUR SANITARY System. Some paint being scrapped off the City Hall Hand Rails that will cut ya up.
