Plainfield Couple Say They're Hoping for a Guilty Verdict

Mary and Al Konrath were sitting in front of the Will County Courthouse Wednesday afternoon with a sign that featured photos of Kathleen Savio and the word guilty.

Mary Konrath has been following the religiously, with he husband Al by her side.

"We want justice for Kathleen," she said Wednesday afternoon.

Peterson is facing murder charges in the death of Kathleen Savio, Peterson's third wife. The jury began deliberations Wednesday morning.

Konrath said she has a person reason to be passionate about the trial.

"I was, in a former marriage, a victim of domestic violence," she said. "I'm so passionate about domestic violence and these controlling men who thing they can do what they want to women."

Al has, in his time following the trial, become passionate in his own right.

"I started doing this to support her and found myself engulfed in this," he said.
