Joliet West Students Excel in Welding Competition
Students from Joliet West High School participated in the Spring Welding Competition on April 5 at ETI School of Skilled Trades in Willowbrook, Illinois. Seniors Jacob Bolyn and Jonathan Hornichak competed against students from area high schools in live-weld events consisting of multiple weld angles and styles. Hornichak received first place for his weld, and Bolyn received third.
Students in welding classes and the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Academy at JWHS were encouraged to participate in this competition for real-world experience in their chosen career field.
