Saw It on eBay: Joliet Baseball Club Original Photo/Frame
The seller is asking $799 for this old photo of the Irving Athletic Club baseball team, which was based in Joliet.
You have to wonder if they deliberately tinted these old photos in sepia because they knew one day we'd be looking back at them with nostalgia?
This particular picture is of the Irving Athletic Club baseball team in an undisclosed year, and is being sold on eBay for $799 -- a price tag that's likely in part influenced by the fact that it's in its original frame.
Here's what the Oak Lawn seller had to say about it: "A large original photograph measuring approximately 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches attached to its original backing behind glass in its original frame measuring approximately 13 x 15 inches. 808 N. Hickory is Joliet, IL (is handwritten on the back, as is the name Vollmer) ... Fine detail and excellent with remnants on glass with slight rising on photo edges as pictured."
The Irving Athletic Club still exists, sort of. There's a bar/restaurant by that name in Joliet located at 703 Richards St.
