Artwork from 5 Joliet-Area Students Chosen for JJC Exhibit

Three of those students were also chosen to receive an Award of Excellence by JJC studio art faculty.

Five students from Plainfield South High School in Joliet have been invited to exhibit their works “2013 Joliet Junior College Area High School Art Exhibition,” according to a news release issued by District 202.

Three of those students also received an Award of Excellence for their achievement.

This year's exhibit includes 112 pieces of art chosen from students in 23 area high schools. Their work is being displayed in the Laura A. Sprague Art Gallery at Joliet Junior College-Main Campus through Dec. 13.

A Certificate of Recognition was awarded to all students whose work was selected for the exhibit. In addition, the full-time JJC studio art faculty recognized 18 students for outstanding achievement.

The Plainfield South students are:

Megan Andrist (junior) – ceramics (Award of Excellence)

Ashley Flores (senior) – computer art
