5 Things to Do This Week: a Car Show, a Musical and Dinner and Dancing

This week offers a variety of events to enjoy the last of the summer weather.

ATI Foundation’s premier fundraisers is set to begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at . The day's activities uniquely combine a 5K Run, Walk & Roll and Cruisin’-4-Kids Motorcycle Ride. Donation for the 5K is $25 for early registration and $35 for same day registration; donation for the C4K is $20 per rider or passenger. Participants will receive an event t-shirt, food voucher and entrance to the post-event celebration. Visit www.ATIC4K.com to register.

Starting at noon on Saturday and continuing through 5 p.m., the Student Activity Board will host its first car show. Cars will be showcased in the Sullivan Recreation Center parking lot, at the corner of Wilcox and Douglas Streets.

Ordinarily, the free concerts at Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park take place on Thursday nights. But this Monday, the stage at the park in downtown Joliet will be occupied by the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America, Shades of Blue Jazz Band. The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. and is free.

Speaking of Bicentennial Park, it is the last weekend to catch the Joliet Drama Guild's presentation of Lucky Stiff. Shows are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for seniors and students.

The annual event, Sunset at Birdhaven, will take place beginning at 6:30 p.m., Saturday. The event takes place at Tickets are $75 per person or $125 per couple. For more information, visit the Web site.
