This Year's Witches' Night Out Benefit Set for Oct. 24

Money raised will benefit Will County United Way agencies that work with women and children.

Witches' Night Out, the annual costume party that raises money for Will County United Way agencies that assist women and children, will be held on Oct. 24 at the Joliet Renaissance Center. Here's everything you need to know about it, courtesy of the event's Web site, http://www.witchesnightout.com/.

Who:
Women who want a fun girls night out are invited.

What: This is a costume fundraiser for women in the Will County area who need help. Join in on the fun and make a positive difference in another woman's life. Witch wear is encouraged but not required. Tickets purchased in advance are $15...at the Door - $20. Note that alcohol is served at the event. We have been asked if little girls and teens can attend. Yes, they can attend but we don't recommend it because there is nothing for this age group to do and some of the witches are very scary!

When: Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 4:00 to 9:30 p.m.

Where: Held at the Historic Joliet Renaissance Center, 214 W N. Ottawa Street in Joliet, Ill. Valet Parking by a professional, licensed and bonded company is $5.

Why: This event raises funds for three social service agencies in Will County. Why a costumed "Witches Event'? Because we love Halloween! And, because we are all party planners at heart. So, we decided to create a different kind of fundraiser.

It is a "fundraiser that is affordable" for many who otherwise would not be able to donate for a cause. Too many fundraisers cost $100 or more for a banquet or $50 for a 5K run and so on.) THIS one is only $15.

"It is an event for a cause" - women helping other women and children by raising money for social service agencies that serve women.

"It is a party with a purpose".....women getting out for an evening for fun with their friends that is affordable.

It is a "Pay It Forward opportunity" for committee members who had or have successful careers and now want to use their expertise and knowledge in a community activity for others.

It gives entrepreneur women in the community the opportunity to sell their products in a venue that gives them access to almost 1,000 women.

It brings 1,000 women from all over Will, Grundy, LaSalle, Livingston, Cook Counties into downtown Joliet. It gives the Joliet Renaissance Center revenue and a few restaurants downtown have benefited from this event in past year.
