Quinn Meets with Striking Joliet Cat Workers

In addition to moral support on the picket line, the Illinois governor also donated $10,000 to their cause.

Gov. Pat Quinn visited the Joliet picket line set up by striking Caterpillar machinists Friday, offering his support and donating $10,000 to their cause.

“You’re the best,” Quinn told strikers, according to a story in the Joliet Herald-News.

“Cat used to tell us we’re the best,” one called back.

Despite the support, Quinn did not comment on questions about whether he would get personally involved in the dispute, the paper said.
