Mariano's parent company, Roundy's of Milwaukee, struck a
deal with Dominick's to buy 11 of its Chicago-area stores for $36
million, the Chicago Tribune reported. The deal is be finalized by mid-December, and the store conversions to take one to two months, the story said.

unable to sell in the Chicago market. Thus far, no sale announcement has
been made about the store at 2318 Essington Road in Joliet.

Mariano's has 13 stores in the Chicago market and is in the process of building five more, the Tribune story said.
