The Red Rocker will perform June 27 at Joliet Memorial Stadium.

Get ready to rock this year at the Taste of Joliet.

Organizers have booked the Red Rocker himself, Sammy Hagar, to headline Friday night's musical lineup at the annual summer fest.

"This is a good one," park district director of marketing Brad Staab said. "We've had him on our list for a while."

Past musical acts at the Taste have included REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Eddie Money, Little Big Town, Kenny Rogers and KC & the Sunshine Band.

Former Van Halen singer Hagar, who makes tequila and rum in addition to music, will perform at 9 p.m. Friday, June 27. Saturday night's lineup features country music artists Thompson SquareDan + Shay and Brett Eldredge.

Stabb said organizers are working on booking opening acts for Hagar and planning Sunday's entertainment lineup. He said an announcement on the remaining acts should come in the next couple of weeks.

This year's Taste will feature more than 25 food vendors, a carnival and a Kid Zone with inflatables and more for the little ones. A live remote for Radio Disney is also scheduled for Sunday morning, Staab said.

The fest is scheduled for June 27-29 at Joliet Memorial Stadium, 3000 W. Jefferson St.

Fans can avoid lines by buying tickets in advance on the Taste of Joliet website.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $35 for the reserved front section. Admission is free for kids age 12 and under accompanied by an adult, and $5 for seniors age 62 and older.

Carnival Mega Passes are also on sale for $50, good for unlimited rides all three days of the Taste. You can get Mega Passes online or at the front desk at Inwood Athletic Club, 3000 W. Jefferson St.
