Pace Increases Service on Joliet Route

New midday trips boost service to Will County Health Complex, other local destinations

Submitted by Will County:

Beginning Monday, June 9, Pace will double the frequency of midday service on Route 504 South Joliet from buses operating every 60 minutes to once every 30 minutes. The additional bus service greatly improves public transit access to the Will County Health Department facility on Ella Avenue in Joliet.

“This is a facility that is important to our riders, many of whom took the time to contact us to ask for better service to the Health Department,” said Pace Chairman of the Board Richard Kwasneski. “We always appreciate rider input and are very pleased to accommodate their request.”

“Access to medical care adds to quality of life for our residents and we are proud to have one of the finest public health care facilities in the state of Illinois,” said Will County Executive Larry Walsh.  “We applaud Pace for listening to our residents’ requests. This expanded route from Pace will offer people additional transportation to our community health center to receive the care they need.”

The additional trips start with a new 10:43am southbound departure from downtown Joliet and end with the arrival of the new northbound trip in Downtown Joliet at 2:35pm. Service is unchanged before 10:43am and after 2:35pm. A passenger notice describing the new service is posted on buses and at PaceBus.com. New timetables for Route 504 are under development and will be printed and placed on buses soon.
