'Godmother of Title IX' Event at USF Cancelled

A speaking engagement by "Godmother of Title IX" Bernice Sandler event at the University of St. Francis scheduled for March 27 has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, USF said in a release issued Wednesday. The event was part of the Women’s History Month celebration.

Efforts will be made to reschedule Sandler’s program, said Debra Workman, history professor and chair of the Women’s History Month Committee. For more information, contact Workman at (815) 740-3228.

Title IX is the federal Civil Rights law that prohibits discrimination in education, but is best known for breaking down barriers in sports for girls and women.
