Primary Care Physicians of Essington Open House

Baseball season is upon us and the doctors with Primary Care Physicians of Essington invite you to Stay on the Ball for Your Health as they host an Open House on Thursday, July 31.  The free event will be held from 3:30 to 6 p.m. in the Silver Cross Professional Building – West Joliet at 1051 Essington Road, Suite 100, Joliet. 

 

All participants will receive a gift bag that includes a gift certificate for a free 10-minute consultation with Dr. Joseph Hindo, internal medicine physician, or Dr. Anandavally Pillai, family practice physician and other items.  Also the first 100 adults to attend will receive two Joliet Slammers box seat ticket vouchers.

In addition, individuals who schedule an appointment with one of the physicians at the Open House will be entered into a drawing to win a baseball signed by the 2014 Joliet Slammers team.  There will be a drawing for all attendees for a Chicago Sports Memorabilia basket, complimentary TCBY frozen yogurt, and free blood pressure and blood glucose (diabetes). No fasting is required.  The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago at Silver Cross will offer free fall and balance screenings.

1340 AM-WJOL will be broadcasting live from the event and adults are encouraged to bring their children to meet Joliet Slammers mascot Spikes from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Southpaw, the mascot from Chicago’s Southside professional baseball team, from 4 to 5 p.m.

 

Attendees can also meet the staff including Drs. Hindo and Pillai.  The two experienced physicians have been caring for patients of all ages on the west side of Joliet for many years and are on staff at Silver Cross Hospital. New patients are welcome. The physicians are adding evening hours for their patient’s convenience.  Starting on Monday, August 4, Dr. Hindo will have appointments until 7 p.m. and starting on Thursday, August 7, Dr. Pillai will have appointments until 7 p.m.  Primary Care Physicians of Essington accept most insurance and offer evening and Saturday appointments. Joseph Hindo, M.D. is board certified in Internal Medicine. With over 30 years of experience, ranging from emergency care to flu and chronic illness, he is dedicated to caring for adults. Dr. Hindo completed an internal medicine residency at The Chicago Medical Schools affiliated hospitals including the VA Medical Center in North Chicago, St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital, Great Lakes Naval Hospital, and Jackson Park Hospital. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Society of Internal Medicine, and Illinois Society of Internal Medicine. As a former Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps from 1986-1994, Dr. Hindo served our country and is a Veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Locally, he has served as President of the Will Grundy Medical Society, Chairman of Professional Education for the American Cancer Society’s Will County Division, and as a member of the Will County Board of Health. He also volunteered his medical services for more than a decade at the Will Grundy “free” Medical Clinic.

 

Anadavally Pillai, M.D. is board certified in Family Practice Medicine.  She has nearly 30 years of experience caring for patients of all ages and treating conditions that are unique to specific ethnic groups as well as those that span generations and genders. She takes a most personal, family-oriented approach to the practice of medicine and is a strong advocate of disease prevention providing immunizations, physicals and screenings. Dr. Pillai completed a family practice residency at Stroger Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL.  She is a member of the American Medical Association, the Chicago Medical Society and the American Academy of Family Practice.
