2 Men Shot in Brunswick Zone Attack
Romeoville police say the incident may be gang-related but they do not know if the victims, one from Joliet and the other from Lockport, were targeted.
Two men were shot as they left Brunswick Zone XL in Romeoville Tuesday in an attack that's being investigated as possibly gang-connected, Romeoville Assistant Police Chief Steve Lucchesi said.
The incident occurred at about 12:50 a.m. as the 735 N. Center Blvd. business, which is a combination bowling alley, laser tag, arcade and restaurant, was closing for the night, Lucchesi said.
As many as 30 people were in the parking lot when a dark-colored, 4-door car pulled up and fired shots that struck an 18-year-old man from Joliet and a 26-year-old man from Lockport before speeding away, he said.
The two victims, whose names were not released, were driven by friends to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. The Joliet victim, shot in the left arm, was treated and released Tuesday. The Lockport victim was hit in the abdomen and listed in good condition Wednesday afternoon, Lucchesi said.
Police have recovered shell casings from the scene but Lucchesi declined to say whether gunfire was exchanged, if all of the shots were fired from the car or if there was more than one gun involved.
It's also not clear whether the victims were targeted or if the shots were aimed at the larger group of which the victims were a part, he said. He would not say whether the victims were cooperating with police.
Given the nature of the drive-by attack, investigators suspect it could be gang-related but there is not enough evidence yet to say so definitively, Lucchesi said.
Anyone who has information about the shooting or suspects is asked to call 815-886-7219.

all the more reason I want the right to conceal and carry cause if I was there especially with my kids and that broke out there would be at least one dead piece of trash gang banger pull a gun at a bowling alley...see take the guns from the good and the bad take over.. I don't have time for the panty waisted cops or judges anymore in Illinois we need to pass laws that give the good citizens the right to protect themselves. Maybe then the judges and cops will realize we are tired of the gangs in Joliet

The Joliet PD just affected a major bust of a drug ring operated out of a Mercado. Now, all the gangbangers are fighting for a piece of the local drug traffic. We've seen half a dozen shootings in recent days, and I fear there are a lot more to come. I'd say allay the public's fears about all these shootings and call it what it is, a gang war. But, these mopes are a danger to everyone, with their indiscriminate shooting. It is only a matter of time until a innocent bystander, probably a child sleeping in their bed, is shot.

The cops don't care about parasites of society. It's a two for one sale with idiots like this. Say what you want, it's easy to take a report, then when they retaliate, take another report. Shoot each other over BS, then don't know anything when the police ask you. They don't get paid to look the other way "Jax" but I'm sure they really could care less that one more road scholar gets shot.

I live near Oak Lawn; located there was a bowling alley that was run by Brunswick, and they were having similar problems. Since Brunswick left and new owners have taken over, they close every weeknight by 9pm and there is a cover charge to come in on weekends after 9pm, plus I believe you have to be over the age of 18 to do so. Haven't heard of an incident since. Hmmmm.....

Exactly it's not the cops' problem, criminals will commit crimes out of the sight of the cops, and even right in front of them; they just don't care about others...it's a shame about what these establishments have to do (see my previous comment) to make these places less accessible at later hours to these douchebags. @Jax...totally agree..but guns are the problem didn't you know that ;-) not the person geez you right-wing zealot ;-) kidding!

Well,The law they are trying to pass is EVERYONE HAS TO HAVE A BACKROUND CHECK TWICE FOR THE PURCHASE OF A HANDGUN. Why is this a law now it shouldof been a law way before the Little ones in school died,Family died watching a show, and Families Bowling or even shopping. Get backround checks for jobs now .

I'm Just Saying..... when you purchase a firearm you are checked by the State Police then it goes through National data base! Then you have to wait for 48 hours to be able to recieve your firearm, "Just Saying!"

48 hours is a joke to get a gun. It took us several weeks to get a passport - just to take a vacation. Maybe a longer waiting period might be needed??!!

Why should I as a law abiding peson have to wait any longer, I have zero records! Tell me why I should have to wait to protect myself when those criminals do not! And to Phillip Cleary..... I believe you are the one that showed your face at my neighbors to show your supposed respect to their son. You are the kind of neighbor who sits in the house and complains because you do not have what it takes to stand up to those that will take over your street. I on the other hand stand, because their is no other way out! It is rather funny when the gang bangers call the police on you, then you know they have gotten the message! I will not lose my privilages to own my firearms because there is no one here to protect us but ourselves, get your head out of the clouds people! Average time for a 911 call is 10 to 15 minutes, you will be dead by then! Also when I call the police they know they need to show because I have already stated my stance to the police cheif as to where I stand. They were told if they do not wish to clean up our streets I will do it for them and they will not like the path I was forced to take.... So Phillip you can either take your stand our STFU about it!

I think you have a false sense of security. No one calls the police and tells them what that will do if they don't deal with the crime. They just do it. Just like the people that call and say they're gonna jump off the bridge. If you announce what you're gonna do, it's an idle threat. You out number the gangs in your neighborhood. Stand united.

.357 i don't understand what you do or clean the street have to do with what Phillip said when he is right what difference does it make gang bangers prefer to by off the street not in the stores so no matter how long or how many times your background take illegal guns will still be on the streets

Listen the gang angers have the fun illegally Obama wants our guns we get legally and the problem I have is it leaves us sheep to the wolves. Had we had the right to conceal and carry legally we may just see crimes like this go down. Look at Dallas and look at Chicago. We as a society need to protect ourselves from the bad guys like these two they didn't care who they would of hit or hurt as long as they got to fire off in a crowd of people Show me one gangbanger that's smarter than a 1st grader we should put all gang members on an island two weeks later all dead from them killing themselves problems solved. Lol Ya get what I'm saying. We need to stop playing politics and being do gooders and protect ourselves from this kinda evil
