I have a sister with breast cancer. She has insurance. Her and her husband are the typical American family. He works full time and always has, she works part time and takes care of her family including 2 children. Unfortunately with breast cancer you CAN hit the maximum that your insurance will cover. Then your on your own. No longer. Now thanks to the Affordable Care Act dubbed by those trying to provoke fear and mistrust as Obamacare my sister can continue to get the help she needs to live without going into bankruptcy. I've listed just one reason why I think today's decision is a good thing.

The government has no business telling me what consumer products to purchase. Period.

Everyone should have healthcare. In the past people with preexisting conditions have been rejected health insurance which has forced many to suffer and others to receive public aid insurance instead. Insurance companies no longer can turn people away. That is a good thing.
Those that haven't had insurance cost hospitals tons of money each year. In turn it cost other more money to make up cost that the hospitals have lost because of those with no insurance.
I have four children. Two with Adhd. I have asthma. About five years ago I tried to get off the all kids health care and get private insurance and we were denied because we had to many pre-existing conditions. So more tax dollars were spent to cover myself and my children rather than us having our own insurance. Now that is just my family. Now think about how many families out there have faced the same problem as we did. How can these changes be bad. Now everyone has to get insurance. Now everyone will be accepted.

Being required to purchase health insurance is not the same thing as healthcare. Insurance companies will deny, deny, deny what they can't afford to cover. Again, the government has no business telling me what to buy. Period. And, I'm going to smack some people when my husband's employer finds it more cost effective to pay the penalty for not offering insurance than to provide the insurance. We're happy with our insurance. The insurance lobbiests came out yesterday and stated costs WILL be driven up in the future by this decision.

It is amazing to me how many people can't grasp this concept. The reason our health insurance is so high is because we are paying for the people that don't have it. Instead of getting health insurance, they go to the emergency room. Those that do not have health-care inevitably take services they cannot afford. This is a cost of $43 BILLION a year to the INSURED. That's why costs are going up. Everyone needs to have health insurance, period. And if the government can make it mandatory to have car insurance, that kids are vaccinated before they go to school, that you pay taxes, that you respond to serving on a jury. And if your husband's employer finds it more cost effective to fire his employees or pay the fine, then he is a sh*ty employer!
