Slain Teens Identified From Tuesday Night Joliet Shooting

The two teenagers gunned down on Second Avenue have been identified.

The two teenagers gunned down on Second Avenue Tuesday night have been identified.

Delasse Lanier, 18, and Adrian Knox, 17, both of Joliet, were pronounced dead at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.

Will County Coroner Patrick O'Neil's office released a statment saying autopsies will be performed on the two young men today.

Detectives are still piecing together the events that led to Lanier and Knox getting shot on Second Avenue between Hobbs and Aikin avenues.

Lanier and Knox were the second and third Joliet teens slain in the city within 24 hours. On Monday night, 18-year-old Tevin Bridges was shot to death in the Lois Place apartments.

Darrel Perkins, 53, was charged with killing Bridges, who reportedly showed up at the older man's apartment door looking to buy loose cigarettes.

Witnesses told detectives that Bridges balled his fists and advanced on Perkins, who then grabbed a .38-caliber handgun off a table and filled Bridges with bullets, police said.

Nice neighborhood that Lois Place Apartments. The city should bulldoze the place instead of wasting taxpayers money policing it.

Then where do thoes residents go? Right into your neighborhood..better to keep the group of people who wanna shoot each other in a section, not spread out over the city..like Chicago..more violence started when they tore down cabrini green did it not...Look at evergreen people who own houses fear if they are shut down then you force the residents to have to move and some of them move into rival territory of their gang and more shooting starts over turf..

Yes they are. What tax payers money? This is NOT public housing. "Everywhere" you address too a police is needed and I proudly pay MY taxes and commend The Joliet Police Dept for their fine investigation for this tragedy. That's their job and my money pays them to do so. A 12yr resident I love my "hood".

Joliet is an old city that needs some cleaning up. Our policemen and women put their lives on the line to keep law and order. They are to be commended. Some of the young people who live there are trying hard to succeed.

It is some of the police that are just as corrupt as the criminals..I am telling you I was at the library and heard 2 people talking like straight up ghetto slang bullshit and I looked up and it was one guy and a cop...and ya couldn't tell the difference when you heard them talking...white cop sounded blacker than the black person he was talking to.
