Quinn Orders Joliet Youth Center to Close
The city will lose more than 200 jobs because of the governor's decision; state Rep. Larry Walsh vows to keep fighting.
Joliet will lose 230 state jobs at the end of October with Gov. Pat Quinn final decision Wednesday to close the Illinois Youth Center-Joliet on McDonough Road and six other state prison facilities.
Despite that pronouncement, state Rep. Larry Walsh Jr. (D-Joliet) told the Joliet Herald-News that he will continue to press the governor to change his mind.
“I’m going to try,” he said. “I’m not giving up yet. We’ve got until Oct. 31.”

Pretty bad up have to put in a link for the herald's story and cant finish your own. Quinn doesn't care about the little guy, why else would he give himself a raise of 3% then tax everyone else to death and take people's jobs away. Welcome to Illinois....land of the over taxed and home of the broke.

Its a shame that when this all came down, at the time House Rep. Jack McGuire did nothing to save these jobs and the IYC. Learn more at http://savejolietiyc.blogspot.com ...
