Pregnant Woman Pulled from Car by Hair: Police
The woman's boyfriend, apparently angered because the victim was allegedly talking to another man, also punched her in the head, Cmdr. Rich Demick said.
The couple had just returned home at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday when Simon Diaz-Deleon, 24, accused his girlfriend of talking with another man at a party they'd just attended, Cmdr. Rich Demick said.
Diaz-Deleon exited the car, which was parked in front of the 617 N. Hickory St. home they share, and walked to the victim's side of the vehicle, Demick said. The girlfriend tried to keep him at bay by repeatedly locking the door, Demick said, but the suspect was eventually able to get the door open.
"He pulled her out of the car by her head, by pulling her hair," Demick said. "He also punched her in the side of the head."
The injuries did not require medical treatment.
Diaz-Deleon was arrested and charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, a felony, and domestic battery.
He is being held in the Will County jail in lieu of $20,000 bond. Jail records, which are incomplete, show that Diaz-Deleon was charged with domestic battery in 2010.
