Police: One Hurt in Hit-and-Run Crash
Driver fled after multi-vehicle crash at Route 59 and Caton Farm Road.
One person was taken to Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet Saturday after a hit-and-run crash at Caton Farm Road and Route 59, Joliet police said.
A spokesman for the Joliet Police Department's west substation said four to five cars were involved in the crash around 3:15 p.m. He said details were unavailable on the crash late Saturday afternoon, but did say the offending driver fled the scene of the accident.
Police did not have any information on the patient's condition immediately following the crash.
On Saturday night, Joliet police did not respond to followup calls by Patch seeking information on the suspect vehicle and victim's condition.

Yep! We need to put in five or 6 more stop lights at that intersection and call Tom Cross and complain about it.

We need to remove 5 or 6 stoplights. I hope Tom hung up the phone.

There's more to this story. I was at the intersection right after the accident and talked to several witnesses. One witness at the scene reported seeing the white minivan speeding towards the intersection of 59&Caton Farm, going Westbound on Caton Farm. That car reportedly blew through the stop light at caton farm and the Jewel parking lot, at high speed, while screaming out the window, and never slowing down until the collision stopped the vehicle. Another witness reported that the driver who caused the collisions jumped out of his car and jumped into the passenger window of another car(possibly grey in color) where he and the driver sped off. There seems to be much more going on there than a simple accident. Maybe stolen vehicle? Maybe Domestic? Maybe illegal driver? Maybe a chase?

I was there and saw it happen. The driver did leave but they pulled into Subway and walked back to the accident.

Mrs. Antinori, is there going to be a follow up on this to get the story of what actually took place here?

I hope there is more to this story. Hopefully, it gets placed in the correct edition of the Patch. Since it clearly occurred in Joliet, it should be in the Joliet Patch.
Let's see some reporting on the governing bodies who impose taxes on the property owners rather than these continued series of vehicle accidents.

This story is actually posted on both the Plainfield and Joliet Patch sites. It was posted on Plainfield in response to numerous Plainfield readers who posted on Facebook or emailed me questions asking about this incident. Unfortunately, Joliet police have not returned any of the messages I've left seeking additional info on this crash. I'll follow up with some more calls on Wednesday.
