Joliet Catholic Academy's Harley Hutchison gained a narrow edge in voting for Patch MVP, Oct. 8-14. She is now eligible for Patch Athlete of the Month honors.

In voting for Patch's MVP for Oct. 8-14, who gets the biggest roar from the crowd?
Joliet Central senior outside hitter T'ara Austin continued to come up big for the Steelmen on the volleyball court. Austin had 18 kills and 12 digs in a show of offensive firepower and defensive prowess against Lockport. Joliet Central dropped a three-set heart-breaker (25-21, 12-25, 28-30).

I would like to vote for Tara Austin. She's not only a great volleyball player, she's a mentor, a leader and strong academically
