Joliet Catholic Academy's Ryan Peters outpolled two othrs in voting for Joliet Patch's MVP, Jan. 7-13. He is now eligible for Patch Athlete of the Month honors.

Joliet Central's Caitlin Magruder is a senior co-captain and four-year varsity bowler for the Steelmen. She had games of 172, 180, 195 and 202 last week and had a 397 series against Lockport. She has been averaging about 185. Credit Joliet Central High School

Joliet West's Mickey Shanahan notched a spare in the first frame, then rolled 11 straight strikes en route to a game of 289 in the Tigers' 2,019 to 1,855 victory over Lincoln-Way East. Shanahan finished with a 480 series. Credit Joliet West High School
