Man Attacked, Robbed of $40 by Gang of Six
The group, armed with a butcher knife and bat, demanded the victim's money and then began to punch and kick him, Joliet Police Cmdr. Rich Demick said.
A man was beaten and robbed of $40 Monday night by six men armed with a butcher knife and a baseball bat, Joliet Police Cmdr. Rich Demick said.
The victim told police he was walking in the area of 2nd Avenue and Richards Street at about 10:20 p.m. when he was approached by a group of black men. One of them said, "Give me all your money," and then struck the victim in the head, while the others began to kick and punch him, Demick said.
When the man was on the ground, the suspects took his money and then fled the scene, Demick said. Nothing else was stolen.
The victim was treated on the scene by Joliet firefighters and did not require hospitalization, Demick said.

Funny how states with CCW are not really having this problem anymore..and when they do you usually see a different story ....Robbers shot by legally armed citizen....
But good ole Illinois will just build more prisons and write more laws and restrict the average citizen to the point where their lives are in danger everytime they step out the door....Chicago is a prime example...Your not allowed to owns gun but the guy trying to replace Jessie Jackson Jr just got busted with a gun and ammo.. it's ok for the politicians is it to defend them selves but not the average citizen...
