Joliet photographer John Parli is recognizing Joliet Patch's Athlete of the Month each month with a portrait such as the one above of Joliet Catholic Academy girls basketball standout Jasmine Lumpkin.
Parli will present a fine-art print to Lumpkin as a keepsake to mark the occasion.
Lumpkin, a 6-foot junior forward, powered JCA to a 73-70 victory over Fenwick on Dec. 12. She scored 19 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in the thriller.
Lumpkin was selected as Joliet Patch's Athlete of the Month for December from a list of weekly winners by Patch Sports Editor Ron Kremer.
