Tobacco Store Caught Selling Fake Pot
Tobacco Loco on Collins Street was one of two Will County retailers caught selling synthetic marijuana last week, police said.
A Will County task force found a Joliet tobacco store selling synthetic marijuana and arrested an employee who sold it, according to a published report.
Members of the Cooperative Police Assistance Team executed search warrants Thursday at Tobacco Loco, 421 Collins St. in Joliet, and IHS Cigars and Tobacco, 16200 S. Lincoln Highway, Plainfield, and found both were selling K-2, or synthetic marijuana, a story in the Joliet Herald News said.
CPAT also arrested Tobacco Loco employee Mohammed Shaqeldi, 25, of Joliet, when he sold undercover agents packets of K-2.
“For some time there have been ongoing complaints made to local police and the warrant resulted from four drug buys there,” CPAT Director Mike Weber told the newspaper, adding the drug, which contains toxic substances, was concealed in Scooby-Doo packaging. Click here to read the full article.
