Joliet Teen Shot Twice in Same Leg on Same Street in 3 Weeks

A local 17-year-old took a second bullet to the same leg.

A teen was shot for the second time in the same leg while on the same street in a mere 23 days.

The young woman most recently took a bullet to her right thight about 10 p.m. Tuesday. She was also shot in the right leg on June 18.

In the Tuesday night shooting, a 1-year-old girl's right cheek was grazed by a bullet as well.

The child was on the steps of an Englewood Avenue building when the bullet narrowly missed blowing her head off.

Officers discovered the woman had been wounded after hearing about 10 shots ring out in the 1500 block of Englewood Avenue. People in the area at the time of the gun attack were uncooperative, police said, but at least one told of the triggerman shooting from a gray van.

paramedics transported the teen to Silver Cross Hospital.

Just 22 days before, the 17-year-old was one of four wounded in an ambush on Englewood Avenue.

The police have identified ex-con Ian Warren, 29, of 900 Summit St., as the triggerman in the June shooting. Warren remains on the loose.

Less than two weeks before that shooting, a Matteson man was gunned down while sitting on the steps of Englewood Avenue. Donald R. Autman, 29, was pronounced dead in the Silver Cross Hospital emergency room just about an hour after the gun attack the night of June 4.
