Joliet's Gavankar Makes Tabloid News for Dinner with Simon Cowell

Joliet native Janina Gavankar has had her share of success in Hollywood, most notably juicy roles in the TV series True Blood and The L Word.

But her star may be headed to the gossip stratosphere if the salivating British tabloids are correct and she's dating Simon Cowell, of X Factor and American Idol fame.

Cowell may be a star here, but he's a superstar in his native Great Britain, and when he's seen escorting a potential new love interest around town, it becomes front page news.

"It may not be true love but it is True Blood for Simon Cowell," reports The Sun. "The X Factor boss was spotted leaving Hollywood restaurant Cecconi’s at the weekend with 32-year-old actress Janina Gavankar."

The paper also breathlessly recounted this Tweet between the pair, which has since been removed.

Simon Tweeted: “Hello trouble. Simon x.”

Janina replied: “Who me?? #Definitely me.”

The Daily Mail reported their allegedly burgeoning romance this way:

"She boasts looks that have won the attention of Hollywood - and now it seems that Simon Cowell is also taking notice of True Blood beauty Janina Gavankar. The 53-year-old X Factor mogul took the 32-year-old actress to his favourite LA haunt Cecconi's on Saturday night after the pair publicly flirted over Twitter - with the multi-millionaire nicknaming the brunette 'Trouble'."

And finally this, from the Huffington Post UK:

"With his army of female friends, it's often hard to tell who Simon Cowell is rubbing belly buttons with and who is strictly a platonic pal. But the music mogul has set tongues wagging after stepping out with 'True Blood' star Janina Gavankar, sparking rumours of a new romance."

Is Gavankar's love life really newsworthy? Maybe not, but it's not every Joliet native who gets to be the center of international media coverage, so why not spread the word?
