So it's Groundhog Day. This whole week felt like Groundhog Day.

Day after day we seemed to be seeing the same people over and over. Maybe our minds were playing tricks on us. Or maybe not. Just look, on Friday we had one of the lawyers representing Drew Peterson in court trying to get former Peterson lawyer Joel Brodsky to give up his financial records. Peterson and Brodsky have been haunting the courthouse for years now. Peterson has been found guilty of murder, and Brodsky no longer represents the convicted wife-killer, but it doesn't look like they've really gone away.

And Margarita Hernandez, who faces charges she set up a sex date with a teenage boy, was in court not once, but twice last week. The first time, her trial was scheduled to start next week. The second time, that trial was called off.

And that's not all that was going on at the county courthouse in this week that's just ended. Let's take a look at what else was happening:

• A Crest Hill man who allegedly ran over his wife in their garage, then called for an ambulance, and then stomped on her face as paramedics arrived was in bond court.
• The lawyer for a Romeoville man who allegedly bashed his wife's head in with a hammer and then hid her corpse in their house for 10 days was negotiating a plea deal.
• A Manteno woman sued Frankfort pediatrician Kishor Jain, claiming he groped her in his office. Five other women have made similar accusations.
• A woman sued the New Lenox supermarket Berkot's, claiming the store is responsible for her son getting hit in the head with a soda that fell when he grabbed another soda from a display.
• A woman is suing the Shorewood man she says ran over her arm and broke it during a drug deal ripoff.
• The lawyer for a teen from unincorporated Plainfield who is accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy was trying to get information on the alleged victim.
