William G. "Billy" April

Age 74, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2013, at Salem Village Nursing Facility, born in Yazoo City, MS on February 10, 1938. Resided in Joliet over 50 years before his health failed and was employed at Material Service.  Preceded in death by his mother, Mary Cross, father, Calvin Owens, brother, Calvin April and grandson, Marcus April.

Survived by two brothers, Roosevelt (Peggy) Cross, and Sonny (Juanita) Cross of Memphis, TN, two great aunts, Carrie April of Joliet, IL, and Louise April-Duckworth of Seattle, WA, six children, Jesse (Pamela) April, Valerie April, Adrena April, Venita April, Terrance April, and Veronica (Bobby) Autman, all of Joliet, IL, 12 grandchildren; Latisha April, Chenita April, Arionne April, Marshona April, Tremell April, Terrance April, Jr., Kadejha April, Jermiah April, Sylisa Smith, Grabrielle April and Tamara April, great grandchildren; Ke’Asia April, Martejha April, Amarion April, Quade April, Davon April, Tariyah April and E’Najah April, long-time friend, Joe Dale Adams, special cousin, Doretha April and AJ April, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to Salem Village Third Floor Staff and Joliet Area Community Hospice.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home and Saturday, January 19, 2013 9-10 am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 402 Singleton Pl., Joliet, IL.  Service at 10 am, Pastor David G. Latimore, officiating.   Interment following at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL.
