Registration Open for Will County Stop Smoking Classes
Nov. 15 marks American Cancer Society’s 37th annual Great American Smoke-out.
This annual event encourages people to smoke less or call it quits for one day. Millions participate, and plenty of proven resources are waiting for those who want to make cigarettes a thing of the past.
The Will County Health Department offers the Freedom From Smoking program (FFS), at several locations throughout the county. Not only does FFS provide continual group support, the program also offers nicotine patches, gum or lozenges, free to those who qualify. The cost of the program is $25 per person which covers program materials.
Registration is now open for classes beginning January 9 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center (Joliet), March 11 at Fossil Ridge Public Library (Braidwood) and April 16 at the Public Library (University Park).
To register for a quit smoking program or for more information, call the Will County Health Department at 815-727-8769 or visit www.willcountyhealth.org.
