Registration is currently under way for the Greater Joliet Area YMCA’s Youth Basketball Leagues. Open to area youth, grades pre-K-8, co-ed leagues are forming now in the Joliet, Plainfield and Troy communities.

The Y Youth Sports program maximizes the positive effects of playing sports by emphasizing healthy competition and promoting teamwork. The Y focuses on the life lessons that can be learned from sports and coaches strive to instill a positive self-image in each player. Most importantly, in the YMCA league, everyone plays and everyone wins!

Leagues are forming now:

JOLIET

Grades: Co-ed Teams, K-8

Practices: Weekday evenings, beginning December 10, 2012

Games: Saturdays, beginning January 12, 2013

All practices and games will be held at Galowich & Smith Family YMCAs.

Registration Deadline: November 17

PLAINFIELD

Grades: Co-ed Teams, Pre-School, K-8

Practices: Weekday evenings, beginning December 10, 2012

Games: Weekday evenings & Saturday mornings beginning January 7, 2013

All practices and games will be held at Plainfield schools and at the C.W. Avery Family Y.

Registration Deadline: November 17

TROY

Grades: Co-ed Teams, K-8

Practices: Weekday evenings, beginning December 10, 2012

Games: Saturdays, beginning January 12, 2013

All practices and games will be held at Troy schools.
