Manley Plans 'Listening Tour' for Constituents
State Rep. Natalie Manley (D-Joliet) is planning a series
of informal, public meetings at area coffee shops to gather community input on the many issues facing the state of Illinois.
“I look forward to meeting with members of the community in a welcoming setting where we can put politics and partisan bickering aside and discuss the real challenges facing our communities and our state,” Manley said.
“Hearing local feedback on proposals before us in
the House is crucial to my effectiveness and strength as an advocate for our region.”
Manley’s Listening Tour schedule is below:
When: Thursday, January 24 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Where: Southern Belle’s Pancake House located at 1819 Knapp Drive in Crest Hill
When: Sunday, January 26 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Where: Louis-Joliet Mall – (food court) at 3340 Mall Loop Drive in Joliet
When: Monday, January 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Where: Starbucks located at 261 S. Weber Road in Bolingbrook
“While there are many tough decisions ahead of us related to health care, education, pensions, and the state budget, I am certain we cannot reach sufficient resolutions without open, honest dialogue,” said Manley. “I will also be encouraging any interested residents to join one or more of my citizen-led issue advisory committees that will meet quarterly to discuss state policies and community concerns.”
