A Joliet couple is among the nation's top 1,000 real estate agents/teams in the country based on 2011 sales, according to Real Trends Inc. and the Wall Street Journal.

Ron and Darlene Gersch, with RE/MAX Realty of Joliet, ranked 244th on the list.

Individual agents and sales teams were ranked separately by closed transaction sides and by closed sales volume, with the top 250 in the nation named in each category based on applications received, according to a media release from RE/MAX.
